Tim Sales is quite frankly the BEST MLM Trainer in the ENTIRE Industry. I want you to think of all the trainers out there…who could have networked their way into getting Larry King to interview them? Not too many names come to mind. Tim did it, and I watched him do it live. Well I know how this story happened from the inside, but suffice it to say that is not what I am here to talk about entirely. I am here to talk about why 98% of network marketers are failing in MLM. In my opinion it is a combination. Their communication skills are terrible and they don’t know how to market. You can be a great communicator but if you have no one to talk to then you are all dressed up and no where to go. Also, you can have all the leads in the world but if you cannot connect with those prospects then you are going to fall flat on your face. I have seen it time and time again.
Just like you have to have a system to build your team. A system to generate leads. A system for marketing. You have to have a systematic plan for how you will to talk to EVERYONE. I love online network marketing, but you cannot hide behind your computer and just hope people sign up with you without ever talking to them. You cannot be in a social setting or out and about and screw this up and think you will make great connections in your daily life. Also, I keep hearing this statement that once you generate your leads you will have to pick up the phone and “Build The Relationship.” Well my friends this is 100% true. But “Build The Relationship” does not give you any clue on HOW TO build the relationship.

For years I bought every sales tool from every person who you can think of who sells them. You name the trainer…I had it. Here is an example…The difference here is being “Interested” in your prospect vs. “Interesting” to your prospect. Interested would be asking questions about your prospect like, “How long have you worked at XYZ company?….What made you go into that field.” Interesting to your prospect would be, “Oh I use to work in corporate America, but I gave that up a long time ago.” There is a difference. You can do Attraction Marketing all day long and brand yourself as the expert, but when you get on the phone or meet someone in person, and you do not have the Inviting Formula down and the 10 Communication Qualities in tact, then you are setting yourself up for failure. One screw up with a person and you could brand yourself as a total jerk or someone who does not live up to their brand at all.

Learn it. Unless you know how to market, how to generate your own leads, and the PRINCIPLES behind succeeding at marketing…your results will slow or stop.
I have watched plenty of well trained people fall flat on their faces regardless of how great their products or companies were because the simply did not know how to market or build their business FIRST. Your job as an Entrepreneur is to EDUCATE yourself first and foremost to develop yourself to ALWAYS be learning and growing. And you have to learn communication skills and marketing or your business will not be in your own hands.
