Do you have a vision so big and ambitious that you worry about the resources needed to bring it to pass? If so, you must not allow the fear of failure keep you from completing the task. Without a strategic plan to bring it to fruition, nothing will happen. In formulating your plan perhaps the following seven steps that I have used can provide the motivation and methodology to do it.
1. Make Up Your Mind
My recent experience has taught me that decisions must be made if one hopes to get anything accomplished. It was my desire to create a CD that would combine beautiful and uplifting melodies with biblical promises and affirmations. When completed this CD could serve to ignite blissful feelings full of hope, encouragement and faith in GOD. My epiphany came when I decided to stop all procrastination and shifted my focus from what I lacked to a determination to go for it and get it done.
2. Examine Your Motives
If I could help construct a CD of awe-inspiring music and powerful words that would bring joy to my audience, then the Prayer Declaration CD can be a wonderful resource. Studies suggests that certain melodies can figuratively transport someone out of despair to a place of peace and tranquility. Some music even has the capacity to energize and restore confidence just by the cadence and combination of notes. According to the American Music Therapy Association, (AMTA), music can diminish physical and emotional pain, decrease stress and can facilitate empowerment. Music with a strong beat can stimulate brain waves and provide an overall sense of well-being. The prayer declaration or positive self-talk derived from GOD’S unbreakable promises coupled with glorious music is the engaging combination to achieve a satisfying aesthetic in the mind, body and soul of the listener.
3. Confront Your Challenges
Then, I had to determine what kept me from moving forward. In one of my pastor’s sermons he proclaimed, “If it’s GOD’S will it’s GOD’S bill!” That catchy phrase leaped in my spirit as I realized that I need not fret about finances and divine connections to complete this task. By confronting the challenge, I would know exactly how many people and the exact amount of financing needed. In turn, I could commit my plans to GOD who will cause them to succeed. This was the inspiration I needed to start the process.
4. Pray About it & Believe
My next step was to pray about it. For effective prayer, my communication with GOD was asked in absolute faith for guidance, inspiration and provision. Thus, my faith is what moved the hand of GOD on my behalf. The Message Bible puts it this way, “If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believing, without a second thought… ” James 1: 5-8
5. Due Diligence
Afterwards I had to gather information consulting experts as musicians, producers, studio owners, graphic artists, etc., I needed price quotes and a production time line to understand the process. Since I would supply the words and most of the vocals, registration of the music and declarations for copyright purposes would be my responsibility. However, everything at that point seemed less daunting because everything had been committed to GOD.
