I’m extremely excited to announce that Seventh Journey Book 1 is officially available through iTunes (iBookstore), as an iBook. Some might be asking “I thought you were already on iTunes?” but the answer to that is no, I wasn’t. It’s not so easy to get distributed through the Big Apple, aka the iTunes Bookstore. Also known as iBooks, or the iBookstore, Apple uses these apps and distribution channels to provide hundreds of thousands of books, which constitute many millions of sales per year.

1. You have stated that you feel we are entering a new dimension when we dream. How do you think future technology improvements are going to affect our ability to “dimensional travel” in dream land?
My novel Seventh Journey discusses the possibility of advancements in technologies known as “binaural beats.” These are tones and sounds, vibrating at different frequencies for the purpose of “entrancing” the brain into various states of consciousness. It works by sending sounds in one ear that vibrates at a particular frequency, while another More >
Today’s book signing went really well, and I had a great time meeting everyone. Meeting so many people so rapidly is such a fascinating experience. There’s really nothing else like it. I saw many friendly and interested faces, and I was able to talk to most of them, and even took a picture with a few. It was great to see their first hand reactions as I discussed the premise of Seventh Journey. The verbal pitch went something like…
“There’s a scientist (as I point to Jacob Cross on the book cover) who invents a headset technology that allows him to open a portal into another dimension. More >
The Seventh Journey Series (Book I) is in the USA – October 2012 edition of Reader’s Digest. It is featured along with another book from my publisher, iUniverse, along with 2 other books from different publishers. I’m very excited to have my work featured in Reader’s Digest, as RD is a household name, with millions of active paid subscribers. People who read RD are well educated, and huge book fans. A great combination, as I believe my book caters to folks who appreciate a mind expanding adventure. I’d like to thank iUniverse and Reader’s Digest for their help in making this possible. More >

NP: Surveillance on the Human Mind Part II
By James W. Astrada
The European Union is oddly spending millions of pounds despite their economic crisis on developing “Orwellian” surveillance technology to monitor the internet and CCTV images for “abnormal behavior.” This five year research program named Project Indect is intended to create “agents” to monitor and process information from web sites, discussion forums, file servers, peer-to-peer networks and personal computers. The supposed purpose of this invasion of privacy is to search for the “automatic detection of threats and abnormal More >
The response so far to this first book in the series has been really good, comments such as “I got hooked in the story and now I can’t wait for the next book” and “found while I was reading, the narrative came to life in my head which kept making me turn the pages” are sprinkled amongst the reviews.
One reviewer wrote…

Book Signing Update
Seventh Journey‘s first book signing was a great success. Special thanks to the staff at Indigo Books at Bay & Bloor, Toronto. The next book signing is currently being worked out via my publisher and Indigo, but I’d love to come back to the Bay & Bloor location as it’s certainly my favourite store. I was very fortunate to be working with such helpful and supportive people throughout the experience, and was pleasantly surprised at the turnout. Family and friends were present and much appreciated. Thanks everyone!
