In life, we all have a gauntlet to win against or an obstacle course, and the main obstacle or benefit maker is in between our ears and a couple of inches through our head in a small organ there that controls everything we do in this world that we do not think through, but think with. Indeed, understanding what is going on there is only the beginning of the struggle and it ends with mastery. Life is the “cabbage alley street level obstacle course” we all must contend with to master ourselves and our lives. To win takes consistency, effort and honesty without any stoppage or lost time, no matter what has to be surmounted. This article is about what it takes to achieve in the purest sense.
So, what do I mean by the “cabbage alley street level obstacle course”? I mean by that what we have to contend with in life every day. Cabbage is an everyday food that people all over the world eat in some form that grows almost everywhere, so what better example could there be than that to describe the tasks of life as a metaphor. A gauntlet is an obstacle course, so what better term than that to simplify the main title of this article.
Effort is an everyday thing despite what we are taught in most American public schools, that you just do it for pay when you grow up and on command and that is it. No. Indeed, effort is everyday and effort is done to get what you genuinely want out of existence and life. The man or woman who knows this simple fact leaves others in the dust doing the effort. Sure, you can have goals, but if you do not take consistent action and thought with discipline and self control, they can never be realized. What shortens the effort process is using intuition productively and honestly to understand what is going on and why, that is what the so called unused portions of the brain are for (yes, the brain is that powerful), to access all of this like the ultimate biological super computer that it is. For the strength of any muscle or organ comes from its productive use, even the brain.
What we have achieved with little use of the brain, all the modern discoveries and conveniences are just a drop in the bucket of the full potential of existence, considering all of the power genuinely at our disposal and access for use. Sure, if looked at unreasonably, it sounds silly, considering how lazy most people are, but consider for a moment if life was used with full, consistent effort in every way that counts, how fast advancement would happen, and how powerfully. The latest cell phone with text messaging would be a mere toy, and not a necessity. Strength comes through building and overcoming and going on to the next plateau, forever with ever better views and reality. That is the point of this article.
Sure, I could make this article less honest, and say mastery is hard for everyone. But, I will be transparently honest and say that mastery is hard for the lazy. Those who are willing to work, work honestly and to genuinely benefit themselves can master easily, no matter what. It may take time, but if there is a genuine will, there is a genuine way. Like I said, like a muscle being built and made stronger, it will happen or to put it another way, get past the cabbage and get to the good sirloin steak through effort, honesty and a genuine not lazy desire to make it happen. I am not say that is all it takes, but I am saying effort and honesty are the two keys to the kingdom through time, work and effort. Everything worthwhile needs to be built by each person for themselves, all else is commentary. To put it another way each person must beat their gauntlet and then build actual prosperity for themselves. No one is coming to the rescue in any way except to give the raw materials to build with or we must grow success and use our power wisely, no matter what. I am not talking inordinate selfishness here, I am talking complete and total common sense in every genuine way and sense that counts. Sure, abstract sense is powerful when used in tandem with common sense in the form of intuition to correctly guide, but all resources must be used properly and honestly to benefit correctly, that is the bottom line. Because laziness is the only genuine sin that hurts anyone through missing opportunities and chances. Alertness and alacrity is power through effort. You can only beat obstacles when you are aware of them, fully aware of them on both the intuitive and common sense levels. Only by using your full sense with honest effort can you properly use your power which is within you as it is within me. It is our human birthright.
My name is Joshua Clayton, I am a freelance writer based in Inglewood, California. I also write under a few pen-names and aliases, but Joshua Clayton is my real name, and I write by that for the most part now. I am a philosophical writer and objective thinker and honest action taker.
I also work at a senior center in Gardena, California as my day job, among other things, but primarily I am a writer. As a kid I did construction work with my Dad which taught me many things like plumbing, hard labor and electrical systems, and I took notes for my Dad’s home poker games at my Uncle Johnnie Gilmore’s house, so I have a lot of life experience, sure. But I went to Cal State Dominguez Hills College, UCLA, and El Camino Junior College and learned a lot, but never got around to getting a degree, just lots of money spent, good grades and some credits. So, here I am currently freelance writing and working at a senior center for a living.
But enough details of my life, what I do is not what I am. So here is what I enjoy, I enjoy reading, listening to music. I am a very eclectic person. I am also a deep science fiction fan and as said before, a lover of books. If I were to go into everything it would take thousands of words, so I end here. Thank you for reading my articles.
