You have a digital clock on your smartphone and microwave. You may even still have a now old-school clock hanging on your wall. The most interesting part is that we automatically believe in this thing that we call time. You would be surprised to know that many don’t even know what time is and yet they complain that there is never enough time to do what they would like to do. And this is where ignorance presents itself.
The discovery of time goes as far back to the ancient Egyptian era and even before. Time was initially measured by a shadow clock and eventually the Hour Glass. The calendar and 24 hour days came to be and thus – it’s time for us to get to work. Time is simply used as a tool to measure progress, and that’s it.
The most intriguing part is that we really only have this very moment in which to live. Our past is ingrained in our mind and so is the future. Many of us complain that we don’t have the time to do what we would like to do but one thing is for certain – we all have the same 24 hours in each day.
Whatever it is you are setting out to get, remember the busy mother or the great leaders of this world. They too have the same hours in a day that we do. The mother chooses to use her time to take care of her new-born baby and Gandhi used his time to spread massive good will to others. When we realize that we can decide on what we want to do and do it, time becomes irrelevant.
One Moment is All We Have
Forget about time! When you choose to live in this present moment, time is a non-existent artifact. Imagine how Mother Theresa did not constantly watch the clock while waiting for her day to end. She had given her time daily without boundary.
In each moment, use your “time” wisely towards something that you would like to progress in. It’s about what you choose to do with your time and not about whining that you don’t have the time. Everyone has living has more than enough time in every day if budgeted correctly. If you really want something bad enough and get busy progressing towards your objective – time will no longer be in your way.
We all have busy lives and yet we have become so obese internationally. Supposedly we don’t have the time to learn proper nutrition to teach our offspring nor the time to keep physically active. What rubbish is this? We sacrifice our well-being and our very own lives for ignorance.
Someone who is not on healthy purpose will wake up one day with diabetes and having to inject themselves with insulin. This same person afterwards makes the TIME and gives the EFFORT needed to learn how to test their blood sugar and how to prepare the needle with insulin. A decision that they wanted to LIVE was formed. This same person who complained about the lack of time before actually forgets about time when they are told that they have to take their injections to continue down life’s road.
The Mastery of Time
It appears that the men and women who become wise in the afternoon of their life come to a realization that there is only one time. Ask any wise elder what time we have and they will all tell you that the only time we have is now – in this very moment. Tomorrow never comes is cliché but it is also the truth.
What do you want? If you want a fit body then take the time to learn the new habits necessary. If you want to have a prosperous business then give the time and effort needed to build it. I say to you once again to forget about time! Take this very moment and progress in the direction you want to go.
