Achieving Success in Life
Human beings are social animals and they cannot live in isolation. However, despite cooperation that is required for peace and harmony, each one of us strives for success in life. Success, in the simplest of terms, is getting in life what one dreams about. Success is a feeling that one gets when he has fulfilled his plans or achieved the goals that he has set for himself. Success in life makes one feel happy and he is able to keep his head high. It is the most important part of one’s life and most of us are seen trying to achieve success in life.
Most of us want success but very few achieve it
Of all the people, very few are able to translate their dreams into reality and lead a successful life. This is surprising, as all of us want to be successful in our lives. It would not be an overstatement to say that only 5% of the people taste success. It is a fact that not everyone can be a Mark Zuckerberg or a Steve Jobs but then there is nothing to stop a person from achieving his goals in life. However, there is no shortcut to success and it demands hard work and perseverance on the part of every individual who desires success in life.
The seeds of desire for success are sown quite early in life and are seen in the form of sibling rivalry where brothers and sisters strive for success as it ensures recognition and encouragement from parents. The same trend is seen in schools where teacher’s attention and recognition is incentive enough for students to work hard and achieve success in academics or other extracurricular activities. As an individual grows, success is seen more in material terms and name and fame rather than trying to achieve better grades in studies.
No shortcuts to success in life
There is no fixed formula to become successful in life. This is because of differences in circumstances, backgrounds, availability of resources, hard work, intellect, and planning. However, having belief in one’s dreams and making persistent efforts to fulfill those dreams is sure to bring desired results. There are many of us who give up after trying for a while. We do not have the patience and the courage required to make that extra effort for some more time. However, hard work and perseverance always pays as long as one has belief in his conviction and dreams.
Learning from one’s failure is a good way to learn how to succeed. It is seen that most of us dread failure and this fear of failure keeps us away from success. Henry Ford always dreamed of a 8 cylinder engine which he called V-8 and though he was repeatedly told by engineers that it was not possible, he was hell-bent on getting it made. After a year of effort and several failures, finally V-8 became a reality. And the rest, as we all know, is history as V-8 changed the automobile segment forever.
