If you have your own website, own your own business, aspire to earn income as an affiliate or just want to earn money from advertising on your website, it’s inevitable you’ll discover you need consistent and substantial online traffic in order for your site to stay alive.
One of the most common mistakes people make when pursuing more online traffic, is simply the positioning of their website and even their marketing strategy at all to increase online traffic to their sites.
They seem to try to send emails to people manually or to people who aren’t interested in what they have to say, (much less what they have to offer) place classified ads on sites where the only people even visiting or looking at the ads are other advertisers more intent on selling their goods than hunting down whatever product, service or opportunity is being offered or leaving comments on blogs and social networking sites trying to get as many eyeballs over to their site as possible.
Stop! You’re wasting your time and damaging your reputation in the process while you don’t even know it.
Who wants to visit a site that is screaming, “LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!”?
If you wouldn’t, then chances are higher than not, the people in the market to do business with you most likely don’t want to see that type of advertising either and are least likely to respond to it.
So what kind of advertising will they respond to?
Now we’re getting somewhere!
You see, instead of just “advertising” and hoping for a response, the secret strategy known to move markets is to “market” instead and simply direct the demand that’s already there right to your offer that satisfies it perfectly.
The business that has prospects calling them all day wanting to order their products is the position you want to be in right? You don’t want to be that out of breath salesperson knocking on doors to you?
The answer is obvious when it comes to you as a person, so why isn’t it as obvious when it comes to the positioning of your website for most people starting out?
It should be, but I think it has something to do with some sort of quirk in human psychology which suggests that the internet is somewhere “out there” instead of right where you are.
However, the same positioning strategies of placing your website on a site that already has established, large volumes of consistent targeted traffic with reasons why someone should visit, the benefits for visiting the site to the visitor, compelling social proof from other happy customers/clients and other types of credible forms of positioning can be very powerful for you when used with a strong call to action to get the click and subsequent visit.
Because your visitors will already be interested in what you have to offer when visiting that related, relevant and targeted site where they found your site,
you can be assured the quality of the visitor is much higher too, which translates into more profits because your visitors are more likely to be interested in what you have to offer before ever discovering your website.
So with the proper positioning, such as working out deals in purchasing advertising from sites in your niche market with large volumes of targeted traffic already interested in what you have to offer, you can increase online traffic with more profitable visits almost literally overnight.
So now that you know what the mistake most people make while attempting to increase online traffic and the proper positioning strategies and why they work instead,
you’re well on your way to getting that kind of increase in online traffic that can make a difference to your business and your life.
Of course, there’s much more to cover on how to increase online traffic to your website and offers, but it could take a new tip every day for an entire year or more to really give you the mastery you need.
