Seventh Journey has come a long way since the I began writing the story back in 2004. It took me two years to write the story, and frame out the remaining 2 books, and also to hire my first editor. My first editor spent a year with me working through the materials, correcting grammar, and fixing any continuity issues which might exist with a work that size. That took me up to around 2007, where the next few years were dedicated to further polish, and acquiring a Literary Agent and sending my work to publishers. Over that time I also constructed RobertJRGraham.com, a News Style website which now gets a great deal of traffic from interested readers. I also worked with two different artists, coming up with Concept Art, and Cover art. Now… Seven Years Later, as if by magic – the story is published. I never thought it would take as long as it has, but because I was focused on quality, and not quantity – I only created 1 book, where others may have created many. I always felt that working with, and finding the right publisher was more important after my first work, than completing the rest of the series. I did this knowing full well that I would have to reedit, and change story components (which did happen) while working with a publisher. So this is why I opted for completing 1 book at a very high level of quality, and then pursuing the rest of my series after my first publication. I believe I made the right choice.
Now that Seventh Journey has hit the light of day, it has done so with no small ripple effect. Winning two prestigious awards right out of the gate, The Editor’s Choice Award, and also the Rising Star award from my publisher. A designation reserved for less than 5% of the books published.
And now, to celebrate this achievement, Barnes & Noble has listed Seventh Journey in their Rising Star collection for the month of March. The more traffic, and books sold during March on their Rising Star Section means I have a greater chance of my work being stocked across shelves in the United States.
I have also offered to give away 7 Nook Book editions of Seventh Journey to anyone who sends me an email. Please contact me requesting a copy, and if there are any spots left, you’ll get your free Nook Book edition immediately!
I hope you enjoy this work, as over 7 years of effort has gone into creating this story, with book 2 and 3 coming next year. Happy Reading!
